Not sure where to start to solve your well water issues? Finding the right solution for well water treatment can be a bit tricky. We are here to make the process simple and help you choose the right solution for your situation.
First, determine which of the following categories you fall into:
1) Iron, Sulfur and or Manganese issues – if you have red, brown and/or black staining on your sinks, toilets and other fixtures, then chances are you’re dealing with iron, sulfur or manganese. Here are some recomended solutions to resolve iron, sulfur, manganese issues.
2) Hard Water Only with no other problems – decide whether you want a salt-based or salt-free system. Salt-free systems such as RWE conditioners are a great alternative to a traditional water softener. There is no invasive plumbing, no maintenance and best of all, NO SALT!
3) General well water concerns – if you are concerned about viruses, bacteria or simply taste and odor issues, then you will want a UV (Ultraviolet) system. For standard size homes, we recommend the Pura UV20-3 and for large homes or the Pura UVBB-3 for general well water treatment.
4) Sulfur Odor Only - Consider aeration. If you have sulfur bacteria, however, that will require a more sophisticated solution such as a chemical feed system.
5) Low pH / Acidic water – If your pipes and fixtures are turning blue/green, then that is the tell-tale sign of a low pH or Acidic water. If you have acidic water, you will need to address it before ANY treatment system can be effective!
