Well Water

About Well Water

If you have well water (i.e. water from a private source such as a well on your property), it is imperative to have a water test conducted to ensure that the well water treatment system you purchase will resolve any issues you experience with your water such as sulfur, sulfur bacteria, iron, iron bacteria, hardness, ecoli, coli form, viruses, etc. Many companies will give you a free water test that will test for some basics such as pH, iron, alkalinity, copper, TDS, hardness, nitrates and nitrates.

But you may wish to have a more comprehensive test done. There are do-it-yourself test kits that start at about $15 or you can send a sample into a reputable water laboratory starting at around $30, depending on what you are specifically testing for. Remember, the more information you have about your water quality before you purchase a system, the more likely you are to get a system that meets your needs.

Not all companies sell or service well water systems, so be sure to deal with a company that has experience dealing with well water.  We recommend www.puriteam.com for well water treatment.
